how it all began

The concept behind Bodysmiths was born a few years ago, when Felicity was working in the student clinic at university, where she was studying to become an osteopath...

​

"So many of my patients would ask me what an osteopath actually is, even though they were being treated by one. They would also often mislabel me as their physiotherapist. This used to rattle me, but then I asked myself - 'why does it have to matter? Why can't a therapist offer more than just their title?'

​

And likewise, why can't a patient see more than just an osteopath or a massage therapist? Why can't they see them all, within one clinical setting?

​

That's when I had this idea of creating a clinic where the patient comes in, is triaged, and then offered services that is right for them, and having the patient involved in that choice. I couldn't see that it had been done anywhere else, and my first thought was that I had to offer this to the world. People have to benefit from this novel form of healthcare."
